What causes hair loss?
Most people think their hair is coming out due to stress. Although that could be the reason your experiencing hair loss, there are countless things that could be contributing to this issue.
Hormonal imbalances
Your thyroid may be too low. You could have slightly more testosterone than estrogen and progesterone. You could be showing symptoms of PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome). Or something could just not be working well in your body causing things to run off its course, such as menopause or if you just became a mom.
DHT is a stress hormone (also an androgen) that directly affects our hair growth by shrinking our hair follicles thus shortening its cycle. You may experience thin or brittle strands or for males, a receding hair line.
Nutritional deficiences
Our diet is the number one thing that most people never think of when they notice abnormalities. Everything is affected by what we feed our bodies. Thats the only way we can treat issues from the inside out. You could be missing out on the exact mineral or vitamin that you need to get what your looking for. Ensuring your getting enough of each vitamin or mineral could save you time trying to figure out why your hair won't grow or why it isn't healthy.
Systemic Diseases
Thyroid disease or lupus (autoimmune/systemic diseases)
Alopecia- traction
There are different types of Alopecia, one being alopecia-traction which is the pulling force of hair for styles at the root. To prevent this from happening, keep your hair loose and avoid constricting styles for long periods of time.
Genetically Disposition
When you are genetically disposed to hair thinning, there starts to become a gradual reduction in hair volume, mainly because your hair follicles are sensitive to male hormones causing follicles to shrink and produce slightly finer and shorter hairs with each hair growth cycle.
Stress
Stress isn't always mental, it could also be physical. The types of food we eat and the type of activity we engage ourselves in or any at all matters. The holistic approach means that every aspect of your health plays a part in how you enjoy your life. So treat your body well, treat your mind well, and treat your heart well by treating others well.
